Trumpet was one of two enucleation (eye removal) cases we brought in in June. Until about a week ago, we thought she was a he. Whoops!

Her buddy, Blackbeard, went through with the surgery and was promptly adopted. Trumpet, however, was too small for surgery at the time, so we had to wait and treat her until she was ready- but strangely, by the time she weighed enough for surgery, her eye had healed enough to not need it! She now has one cloudy eye and her vision is a little off, but that’s okay! She can still see well enough and he looks like a total badass.

Trumpet is one of our favorite babies of all time here. She melts in your arms the second you pick her up. She wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She’s a 100% grade-A certified Good Girl (tm).
